Leading Malaysian Business Publication Highlights McDermott’s Regional Strength and Potential

In a recent interview with The Edge, a leading business publication in Malaysia, Ian Prescott, McDermott’s Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific, highlighted our strong presence in Kuala Lumpur and beyond throughout the entire region.

Prescott discussed McDermott’s growth opportunities in upstream and downstream, noting that some of the recent trends are very positive for McDermott.
 
“It is unprecedented that both the upstream and downstream segments are both active right now,” said Prescott. He added that historically, they run counter-cyclically to each other depending on the prevailing crude oil price trend.
 
Prescott also highlighted McDermott’s strengths in Kuala Lumpur, which has more than 700 employees and serves as our regional headquarters and a center of engineering excellence. For McDermott, Kuala Lumpur offers an established oil & gas ecosystem, outstanding engineering talent pool, an ease of doing business and strategic geographic location to other countries in the region.
