Subsea & Floating Facilities
Unlocking the Potential of Offshore Energy Resources
Drawing on a century of engineering experience, we responsibly unlock the potential of offshore energy resources to ensure reliable access to the energy needed to power the world. Our pragmatic approach leverages conventional engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) practices with technological advancements in field development to build the infrastructure needed for subsea, large offshore, FPUs, and FPSOs projects across the globe. Our comprehensive solutions support the full lifecycle of energy projects, including circularity efforts through decommissioning solutions and carbon abatement projects.
Global Reach: from the Americas to Africa and Australasia, we are where our clients are, with an established local presence in all major offshore energy regions
Unmatched Engineering: global team delivering pre-FEED, FEED designs for SURF, FPUs, FPSOs, fixed offshore platforms and central processing platforms
Top-Tier Vessel Fleet: designed to cover global deepwater and ultra-deepwater field development projects

We design, build, and install subsea infrastructure, including pipelines, umbilicals, risers, flowlines, manifolds, and associated carbon capture storage and utilization infrastructure, to support lower-carbon energy production. We also provide installation and hook-up services for all subsea equipment from the wellhead to the floating or fixed tieback structure.

McDermott has participated in the fixed offshore production market since its inception, having installed the first fixed platform made out of steel in 20 feet of water in the Gulf of Mexico for Superior Oil in 1947. Today, we continue to deliver project engineering, design, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, hook-up, commissioning, and start-up of fixed offshore platforms, including central processing facilities. We serve a diversified client base of independent, international, and national oil companies, bringing their vision to life with a focus on safety, operational excellence, and quality project delivery.

As the energy industry transitions towards more sustainable energy production methods, offshore decommissioning – the process of safely removing and disposing of oil and gas infrastructure at the end of its operational lifecycle – plays an important role in supporting circularity within the industry.
McDermott leverages decades of know-how in circular practices, subsea project execution expertise and its versatile marine fleet to support customers with customized solutions for the removal of offshore infrastructure.
