Michael McKelvy is Chief Executive Officer of McDermott International and Chair of the company’s Board of Directors. He brings more than three decades of industry leadership in global engineering, procurement and construction markets as he executes the company’s strategic growth and operational plan.

Previously, Michael led Gilbane Building Company as President and CEO since 2014, where he was instrumental in record growth, profitable operations and a strong customer commitment. Prior to joining Gilbane, Michael spent 26 years at CH2M Hill. He spent his early career in operations at C.H. Guernsey & Company and Lockwood Greene, which became part of CH2M Hill.

Michael currently serves on the Boards of Directors for McDermott, Amrize (formerly Holcim SpinCo) (SIX: HOLN and NYSE: HCMLF); a leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions and Meeting Street, a children’s learning community. He previously served on the Boards of Directors for: RPS Group PLC (2018-2023); Gilbane (2017-2022); CH2M Hill (2017-2014); CWI (Chairman, 2009-2014) and; CH Plateau Remediation Company (Chairman, 2009-2014).

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana Tech University.

He completed executive management programs at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, University of Michigan Ross School of Business, Thunderbird School of Global Management, Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Babson College.
