Scope of Work

Summary

In October 2011, Occidental Chemical asked McDermott to prepare a Basic Engineering Package (BEP) for a 1.2 BPY ethylene cracker, including utilities and tankage. In November 2012, Oxy signed a license agreement for McDermott ethylene technology and retained McDermott to prepare a PDP/FEED and Class 3 estimate. The PDP/FEED project was awarded on a sole source negotiated basis to develop an Open Book Cost Estimate (OBCE) and convert to a lump sum EPC project. In November 2013, McDermott was awarded the EPC contract through Mechanical Completion for a 1.2 BPY ethylene unit, including utilities and tankage. The ethylene produced in the plant will supply OxyChem’s existing vinyl chloride monomer facility.

In June 2015, McDermott was awarded a contract valued at approximately $115 million, as part of the scope of the ethylene project for the engineering, procurement and construction of an ethylene storage facility in Markham, Texas. McDermott’s Houston office will lead the project utilizing multiple high-value engineering centers. Our office in Brno, Czech Republic, will perform some of the engineering, and our office in Gurgaon, India, will perform Document Management and CAD work, working in parallel.
