Highlights
  • Design, fabricate, install, and commission the offshore converter substation platforms for two 2GW HVDC grid connection systems, Balwin4 and Lanwin1.
  • Convert up to 2GW of offshore wind-generated electricity from 66 kV alternating current (AC) to 525 kV direct current (DC) to facilitate efficient electricity transmission to the onshore station.

The fabrication of BalWin4 will begin in 2025 with a commissioning date of 2029, while the LanWin1 platform’s fabrication, installation and commission follows a year later, reaching completion in 2030. These platforms' main objective is to convert up to 2GW of offshore wind-generated electricity from 66kV alternating current to 525kV direct current. This conversion facilitates efficient transmission of electricity to the onshore station, enabling the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grid at a significant scale.
