American Electric Power–SWEPCO selected McDermott to provide engineering, procurement, construction, startup and commissioning, and overall site management services for a 600 MW Ultra-Supercritical Advanced Pulverized Coal Plant at John W. Turk, located in Fulton, Arkansas. In July 2014, Power Engineering Magazine published an article by Peabody Energy on America’s Best Coal Plants. The John W. Turk Jr. Unit 1 station ranked #1 on the list of most efficient plants with the best heat rate in the country for 2013.
