Corridor Engineering, Pipeline Engineering and Environmental Impact Review

Summary

McDermott performed a number of contracts for the engineering, procurement and management assistance of a 1,760 kilometer (1,094 mile), 42 in./46 in. oil export pipeline from Azerbaijan to Turkey.

McDermott undertook the route selection, corridor engineering, pipeline engineering and environmental impact review for the Azerbaijan and Georgia sectors, as well as the implementation of an advanced Geospatial Information System (GIS) for the whole pipeline. McDermott was also responsible for the preparation of the Invitation to Tender, bid evaluation and award for the construction of the pipeline. McDermott worked as part of the BP-led Integrated Project Management Team. Under a separate contract, McDermott also worked on the detailed design of the pump stations in Turkey.
