William H. Schumann, III
William H. Schumann, III joined the McDermott Board of Directors in 2012. He is a member of the Audit Committee and the Risk Committee.
He served as Executive Vice President of FMC Technologies, Inc. (FMC), a global provider of technology solutions for the energy industry from 2005 until his retirement in August 2012.
During his 31 year career at FMC and its predecessor, FMC Corporation, William served in the following positions: Chief Financial Officer of FMC Technologies from 2001 to 2011; Chief Financial Officer of FMC Corporation from 1999 to 2001; Vice President, Corporate Development from 1998 to 1999; Vice President and General Manager, Agricultural Products Group from 1995 to 1998; Regional Director, North America Operations, Agricultural Products Group from 1993 to 1995; Executive Director of Corporate Development from 1991 to 1993, and other various management positions.
William also served as the Chairman of the Board of Avnet, Inc., an industrial distributor of electronic components and products, since February 2010, and as a director of Andeavor (prior to August 2017, named Tesoro Corporation), an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products, since November 2016.
William has a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master's degree in management science from the USC Marshall School of Business.
