McDermott has considerable expertise in many state-of-the-art refining and petrochemical technologies, including gasoline-blending components, bottom-of-the-barrel processing, olefins, polypropylene, styrene/polystyrene, light hydrocarbons (C3-C5), phenolics and other specialty chemicals. Flexible commercial model
From a commercial standpoint, McDermott offers a balanced and flexible contractual approach to each project based on the needs and preferences of the client and with the objective of balancing risk between contractor and client. While we continue to execute projects on a lump sum basis where it makes sense, we are contracting more and more projects on a "hybrid" basis, where a defined scope of work may be performed lump sum and the balance on a cost-reimbursable basis, which allows for risk sharing between the two parties. We also work on a purely cost-reimbursable basis as appropriate.
