Graduate Development Program

The Graduate Development Program is McDermott's entry-level rotational program designed to provide recent college graduates with an opportunity to work in challenging environments while learning how our organization provides solutions to the energy industry.

Over a duration of up to three years and through multiple rotations, participants are provided an ideal opportunity to explore careers while gaining valuable work experience needed to succeed in the future.

McDermott is organized by four areas:  

  • North, Central and South America (NCSA)
  • Europe, Africa, Russia and Caspian (EARC)
  • Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
  • Asia Pacific (APAC)

While in the program, participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of the services McDermott offers to its customers
  • Experience rotations where they can apply their education and broaden their technical knowledge
  • Receive ongoing training and development through mentorships, job shadowing and on-the-job experience
  • Build relationships through networking
  • Gain exposure to the following areas, but not limited to:
    • Engineering
    • Fabrication Services
    • Construction & Installation
    • Project Management & Controls (PMC)
    • Supply Chain Management (SCM)
    • Marine Asset Operations (MAO)
  • Receive feedback on their performance through formal evaluations by current supervisors

Who should apply: 

  • Current students or recent graduates with a BS or MS in one of the following engineering disciplines: mechanical, civil, chemical, electrial
  • Candidates who will be available by June 2020

  • Competitive and selective process
  • If selected, participants will be required to attend orientation at local/corporate office before starting first rotation 
  • Rotations are based on business needs 
  • If selected, participants should be willing to travel to next rotation with little notice and are responsible for their own living arrangements
  • Relocation is required for participants in the program
