Keeping Operations Running Smoothly
Beyond facility construction, we collaborate with facility owners and operators to enhance the value of their capital assets.
As structures reach maturity, customers turn to us for performance assessments, modifications, repairs or upgrades to their tanks or facilities to extend operational life and ensure code compliance.
Our practical approach to inspections is based on extensive experience building tanks and facilities with similar configurations, design, materials and construction methods. In many cases, we performed the original engineering and/or construction work for the facility and can access original drawings and records to support our evaluations.

Expert Inspections & Repairs
We have extensive knowledge of repair and alteration codes including API 653 and the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). In-service inspections are the first step to anticipating issues that may need to be addressed in order to avoid taking a tank out of service. Out-of-service inspections can be performed to check the general condition inside the storage tank or investigate a performance issue. We work with our customers to develop the appropriate decommissioning procedures to take the storage tank out of service and commissioning procedures to bring the tank back into service after all work is complete.

CB&I Storage Solutions has ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and 2 certifications for new construction (U and U2 stamps) and is also certified to perform repair and alteration work on existing ASME vessels with our NBIC R-1 (repair) and R-2 (alterations) stamps.
