The materials and equipment we purchase and the services we elect to subcontract out are as diverse as our supplier base, and range from carbon steel and exotic alloy piping materials, to workboat charters and large subsea valves.

Our vast network of valued supply partners enables us to successfully execute our customers’ projects. While we strongly value the long term relationships we have developed with our supply partners, we are also interested in viable new supply options.

McDermott’s procurement approach is particularly valuable in delivering EPCI projects, due to the single management interface that provides quality control and stronger oversight of materials, timetables and personnel. With one entity managing materials and equipment deliveries, an experienced EPCI project team can more effectively plan and manage project change.

Local and global trade compliance procedures ensure McDermott employees involved with export and import of goods, information and technology, adhere to the applicable trade compliance regulations, and those of origin and destination countries.

Our Logistics and Trade Compliance teams work with project stakeholders to determine Export Control and Licensing requirements for project-related material and identify items deemed as “controlled goods”.

Regular checks are performed on the US Department of Commerce’s BIS and OFAC website relative to denied, debarred and unverified parties, non-proliferation sanctions and the General Order 3 to Part 736 (Export Administration Regulations).
