A full suite of FPS engineering and project management capability is supplied by McDermott and FloaTEC, LLC, our joint venture company with a subsidiary of Keppel FELS. The proprietary designs of FloaTEC, LLC for TLP, Spar and Semisubmersible technology continue to evolve with subsea riser technology to meet new field development challenges. Ongoing research for hull and mooring performance, riser and structure design keeps us at the forefront of deepwater and pre-salt technology. Innovations include an ice-class disconnectable Spar and a dry-tree Semi designed for fields in ultra-deepwater.

Construction

Spar hulls, topsides, SCR’s, tendons and mooring systems have been successfully engineered and built at our fabrication facilities worldwide.
Our Batam, Indonesia yard features proven FPSO topsides fabrication and integration infrastructure, and through our Qingdao, China, joint venture company, McDermott Wuchuan, we construct topsides and modules for offshore and onshore markets, including FPSO and LNG. In Altamira, Mexico direct, unrestricted deepwater access to the Gulf of Mexico strategically and competitively positions our fabrication yard for FPS and topside integration. |
Installation

McDermott’s fleet has undertaken numerous FPS installations, from classic and truss-Spar hulls, SCRs, tendons, mooring systems and subsea facilities, with deepwater lowering of in-line structures for subsea tiebacks, and heavy lifts for Spar topsides, FPSO module integration, as well as topside float-over integration for Semi’s and TLP hulls.
Our fast-transit, global construction vessels are equipped to install subsea infrastructure for all types of FPS solutions, including rigid and flexible product, and our welding quality and performance is world class. |
