Based on more than 30 years of experience, McDermott is a leader in the market and is well-equipped to meet the challenges currently facing today’s offshore oil and gas industry, particularly in floating production. We've provided design, engineering, construction, transportation, installation, hook-up and commissioning services for floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) projects in the North, Caspian and Timor seas, as well as Brazilian and Southeast Asian waters, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Middle East. Our customers include many of the world's largest oil and gas producers.

McDermott has the specialized in-house expertise to design and build FPSO facilities that provide years of safe and reliable service even under the most challenging operating environments. Our engineering personnel include experienced naval architects who specialize in designing topsides for FPSO vessels, and engineers who have designed and managed a full range of offshore oil and gas production, processing and storage facility projects. Our experience extends from small FPSO conversion designs through new build leased FPSOs to bespoke designs for large owner-operated units.

McDermott’s long and well-established relationships with some of the industry’s major hull suppliers provide in-depth understanding and working knowledge of the key hull/topsides interface and integration issues, which translates into the optimum, efficient and safe FPSO layout and topsides design.
