Volunteering

The company and hundreds of employees are directly involved by donating their time and expertise through numerous corporate charitable programs, volunteer organizations and community outreach programs.
Initiatives around the world focus on health and safety; promoting academic success; environmental enhancement, protection and rehabilitation; youth development; and fund raising to benefit areas with the greatest needs in the local community. |
Giving

Corporate financial donations support disaster relief, and a variety of global and local non-profit social services organizations.
Charitable support also covers social issues such as newborns and pregnancy, elderly, people with special needs, medical services and basic necessities. Building and infrastructure projects funded by McDermott consist of new construction, expansion, repair, maintenance and equipment for schools, orphanages and other charitable organizations. |
Educating

A major area of direct involvement is education, which includes financial aid for hundreds of students through grants and scholarships to selected colleges, universities and other institutions worldwide.
Funds are also donated for student and teacher excursion programs, partnerships with technical high schools, programs for at-risk teens, IT equipment for early childhood and higher grades, and school fees and uniforms for elementary level students in need.
Our Volunteers work directly with schools to promote academic success and foster educational excellence through mentoring, tutoring and board service. |
Leading

In Indonesia, such efforts are handled by the Batam International Charity (BIC) ), a registered nonprofit managed by a committee of employees and senior management of McDermott. Funded through an annual event, BIC addresses basic necessities including school support, the many impoverished orphaned children, medical services to the poor and disaster relief.
Through the generous response of clients, suppliers, and McDermott corporate and individual donations, BIC celebrated “10 Years of Giving” in 2011, bringing the total of funds raised since the beginning to approximately US$ $2 million. |
