Admiral Richard W. MiesFrom 1998 until his retirement from the Navy in February 2002, Admiral Mies was Commander in Chief, United States Strategic Command, where he was directly responsible for the command and control of the Nation's strategic nuclear forces supporting the national security objective of strategic deterrence. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Naval Submarine League and a director of Los Alamos National Security, Lawrence Livermore National Security, and Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company.
